– Describe your home town to a reader who has never been to, seen, or even read about it. Be sure to provide several details about your town’s landmarks, history, geography, etc. and explain how these details relate to your survival plan. For instance, if your plan would be to flee the city for a nearby wilderness, you should be able to, among other things, explain why (what about the city makes it so dangerous), describe the best way to escape (what are some important landmarks, etc.), and what your reader would need to bring/know to survive.
– Explain how your plan would work, and why you feel qualified to make it. What about your life, family, personality, or education has prepared you to survive the Panic? ( if the zombies attack my hometown according to chapter one of world war z by max brooks. If I were a fellow survivor, why would I trust you to help us survive? Describe detailed examples to prove your qualifications.
– Use at least ONE OUTSIDE SOURCE to aid your description. This source must be reliable and should be used to help your reader visualize and understand both your home region and your plan for survival. Your quotations from this source may help describe the region, highlight the region’s history, give evidence for the efficacy of your plan, teach the reader important information about surviving a (non-Zombie) hazard specific to your region etc. This source MUST BE INTEGRATED INTO YOUR WRITING USING PROPER MLA CITATION GUIDELINES.
– Quote or paraphrase at least TWO passages from the book (world war z by max brooks) that seem similar to your own plan. If one of the chapters features your home country, you may use a passage from that chapter to provide background for your own plan. If you think one of the survivors had a good strategy, quote it and then explain how your own plan would be different and why. If you do not see your home country, find one that faces similar challenges (cold winters, overpopulation, economic inequality, etc.) and compare/contrast the example from the book with your own situation.
– You must include an MLA style bibliography properly citing the book (and any other outside sources you may choose to use) at the end of your paper
