Choose ONE of the following two questions:
1. Extension of Panel Presentation Assignment: For this assignment (you may use the artifact selected for your
presentation or choose another) select an artifact and examine it both in relation to its cultural context (this is
where the research comes in) as well as in relation to the cultural context in which you grew up (here you can do
research or base it on your own experience). The artifact can be a historical document, scientific discovery, work
(or genre) of art, philosophy, theology, music, literature, dance, or architecture mentioned in our textbook. Your
essay should focus on the artifact from a particular angle which interests you: political, social, philosophical,
theological, historical, artistic, literary, or psychological. After choosing a focus and, after considering both
the rich definition of culture defined above, and one or more peer reviewed sources (using the AUD library or its
data bases or museum, or educational websites), your essay should argue (thesis statement should be an elaboration
