Common noun is a non-specific name for people, places, things, events.Concrete noun refers to that can be perceived by the five senses.
Examples for Common Nouns:
- man — any man, none in particular ( Steve could be a proper noun for man.)
- teacher — any teacher, none in particular ( Miss Sandoval could be a proper noun for teacher.)
- school — any school, none in particular ( University of the Philippines could be a proper noun for school.)
Examples for Concrete Nouns: (can be perceived by sense of sight, touch, hearing, smell, taste)

- Mr. Hughes (proper noun can be concrete, too)

Examples of Abstract Nouns: (cannot be perceived by the senses)
