Drawing your own personal experiences, and from films you’ve watched in your own time – discuss the ways in which Africa and Africans are represented by Africans
How do these representations differ from those in the first section of the course? How have these representations impacted your personal view of Africa and Africans? What have you personally learned about historical and/or contemporary Africa? Please reference specific examples. A successful paper will not only make meticulously documented arguments, it will also incorporate additional research about the films, filmmakers, and historical contexts in which the films were produced.
