Use of secondary language in teaching negatively influences the students’ performance.

Following successful submission of the potential thesis that would be chosen for final project, it was agreed that an essay that will be looking at the influence of secondary language in academic atmosphere would be appropriate. Different materials were reviewed as a back-up for the information can this essay. This essay therefore discusses the topic selected and other consideration in choosing the topic and seeks to share the available materials to support this research.

Development of the research topic

The sole intent of education is to build up a holistic student. After going through the education system successfully, it is expected that the resulting person will have qualities which will make him or her whole person with all that he or she requires to tackle life.

However, it is not the language that the teachers use to impact academic morals and knowledge in the same students. This creates a conflict into the students on what to hold onto. In other words, a student is put into a confusing situation that is developed by the two sides, either English or French

Teaching in the first language may be beneficial for the students (Manchu, 2006). However, in the quest of standardizing education, one language is commonly used in most education systems. (Dantas-Whitney & Waldschmidt, 2009). Most of the time, the education system is a secondary language, which the students exhibit low mastery (Dooley & Assaf, 2009).

Materials

The materials that will be used as secondary sources include articles and research papers done elsewhere on this subject. In addition to these sources, various books will be reviewed that are deemed beneficial to the project. Surveys by institution dedicated to education will be consistently referred to as they provide raw data on the subject.

In conclusion, the paper will send limelight form the foundation for development of the project. I must admit however that most of the sources are available online and not necessarily in the South University online library.
