Topic: US Interests in Ethnic Conflicts

Throughout this semester you will be looking at how the United States affects or is affected by the situation in the region

discussed in each module (please see attachment). So, to begin:

1. How was the United States involved the changes in South Africa that led to reconciliation between ethnic groups and ended

Apartheid?

2. What role do you think the United States should play in efforts to forge a peace agreement between Israelis and

Palestinians ?
