What other types of institutions might we look to in our efforts to explain the social/political world? What behavior would we link them to, and how might you investigate the link(s)?

During this final section of the course we have heard Professor Miller ask if we can identify the source of politically influential ideas, and learn how those ideas become influential, and we have heard Professor Warner ask about the role of religion in generosity. Both of these studies end up investigating the role of international institutions on ideas and behavior (two religious groups and an organization of professional scientists). What other types of institutions might we look to in our efforts to explain the social/political world? What behavior would we link them to, and how might you investigate the link(s)?
