Content: In the review you will need to identify, summarize, and (to a limited extent) evaluate the ideas and information the author has presented. In other words, you will be examining another person’s thoughts on a topic from your point of view. Your paper should go beyond your gut reaction” to the work. It should address one or more of the questions below and be based on your knowledge (readings, class discussion, experience) of the topic.
In your article review you will need to do the following:
1. Identify the author’s primary argument/thesis/position in one to two paragraphs.
(What is the author writing about and what is his/her position?)
2. Then, discuss one or more (but not all) of the following questions:

 Did the author offer an argument with which you agreed or disagreed? Why or
why not?
 Did the author challenge convention wisdomcommon statements that are
made regarding business? Identify and react to the challenge.
 Did the author use any of the ethical frameworks identified in the handout,
Thinking Ethically: A Framework for Moral Decision Making? (1)The Utilitarian
Approach, 2)The Rights Approach, 3)The Fairness Approach, 4)The Common Good Approach or the 5)Virtue Approach)? Identify the ethical framework and
critique its use by the author.
 Have you had personal experience with the ethical issue introduced by the
author? Discuss your experience in the context of the reading.
3. Conclude your article review with a summarizing statement.
