The impact on the lives of woman during the time of the baby boom

. The impact on the lives of woman had put a positive outlook during the time of the baby boom; it also had negative effects as well. With all of the babies being born, they had to keep up with baby products like food, clothing, toys, and baby items so production on these items had put the economy on top. On the negative side, a lot of people was getting worried because the population was growing dramatically, schools had to be built due to the overcrowding. These put a big strain on women and had to be mothers with big expectations of motherhood. Cooking and cleaning became the norm around the house and woman became housewives and staying home more often.
#2. After World War II ended, there was an enormous amount of babies being born in the nation. A whopping “4.3 billion births occurred, one every seven seconds” (Shi and Tindall, 2015, pg. 978). This generation of children was known as the “baby boom” (Shi and Tindall, 2015, pg. 978). During the baby boom generation, women were treated very different from previous generations. Women were forced to give up their dreams and careers and focus on becoming a stay at home wife for their husbands and a mother for their children. Women who stayed at home also performed all the duties and chores in the home, some of which included, cooking and cleaning, doing laundry, and also raising and taking care of their children that she bear. Even though many women wanted to go out and work to make money for themselves, majority of them eventually had no choice and gave in, and instead stayed home and became housewives. Because back in those days, it was said that women belonged in the home rather than at work.
