-Who was Mohandas Gandhi and how did he impact 20th century India?

-During World War I Turkey levied a wave of massacres against the Armenian population within its borders, and thus unleashed one of the most genocidal centuries in World History. With all of the international human rights laws passed in the 20th century, why did the world community stand by in the 1970s and the 1990s as the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, the Serbs in the Balkans and the Rwandian Hutus slaughtered hundreds of thousands of their own countrymen? What measures can be taken to prevent future ethnic cleansings and genocide?
