DQ 1.Conflict in International Relations Before you begin, you will want to complete the Quick Review Questions for Chapters 9 & 10. These activities are designed to ensure that you have a solid understanding of the key concepts. You can access the Quick Review Questions through the Multimedia Library link in the left-hand navigation menu, in your online classroom. This week, you read about both interstate and asymmetric conflict. You were also able to watch several videos of each in the MyPoliSciLab Multimedia Library. For this discussion, you will be comparing and contrasting the characteristics of these two types of conflict.
Using the information you gained from your text and other required materials, evaluate how interstate conflicts are in some ways both similar and different from asymmetric conflicts. Be sure to include specific, real world examples from both the videos, as well as from the News Review. Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7. In particular, pay attention to students who may have discussed similarities or differences other than the ones you were able to notice. DQ 2. This week, you experienced the issues that surround the topic of international trade. Based on your experiences in the You Are a Trade Expert simulation, as well as in your readings, discuss whether international trade liberalization overall is a good thing for the global economy. Explain your reasoning either way. Make sure to utilize the videos from Chapter 11 as well as the News Review section to find specific, real world examples to supplement your argument.
