Strategies for Online Success
While you may be computer savvy and feel comfortable online, completing your courses and an entire degree program online with no physical classroom or face-to-face contact presents its own challenges. Skills that are critical to online learning success include an ability to plan and manage time, particularly since there is no structured “class time”; the capability to communicate clearly and effectively online where there is no nonverbal or visual feedback; and the capacity to use technology effectively.
This Discussion provides you with an opportunity to think about your skills in the above areas, to explore strategies for successful online learning, and to share some of those strategies with others in the course. Moreover, you will consider the implications for how these success strategies relate to academic integrity.

• Review this Week’s assigned readings in the course text, Essential Guide to Online Learning.
• Read the Study Notes, Technical Tips for Learning at Walden.

• Review the “Academic Integrity” tutorial.
• Think about strategies you have used or read about that you found to be or think will be useful to you in planning, managing time, communicating effectively, and using technology effectively.
• Consider how the strategies you identified can contribute to being a successful online learner.
With these thoughts in mind:
