Store Review
This comprises of an individual critical appraisal of the store environment to evaluate how EITHER PRIMARK or THE BODY SHOP has applied elements of store design, marketing and layout to meet its target market.
Your findings need to written as a report format in no more than 1,000 words.
The following checklist forms the basis of your research. However, this list is only meant to support your ideas and you may wish to add additional elements that you feel are important to your retailer. You must take a critical perspective rather than that of just a customer. You are expected to concentrate on one store only (not a whole chain). You work will be assessed against the following criteria:
70% well researched points, application of theory to the practice (in the store environment);
20% your writing skills, presenting a logical development of ideas;
10% clear conclusions with possible areas for improvement/s;
In order to help you make an evaluation of the retail outlet a grid is included later. NB You must NOT just describe what you found but make a critical analysis of the store in relation to the topics and your knowledge of store design and layout applied to the retailers set.
You are free to choose which one of the 2 stores will choose and discuss and please respect all the requirements and concentrate on a store only not the whole chain.
Dont rely too much on the websites but much more on the academic sources and the referencing I want you to use Direct Quotations and not indirect so you need to use quotes correctly and make sure you put all of the authors used in the text in the bibliography as well .
