1. Structural defects in automobile doors are detected, and the number of occurrences of each defect type is given as follows:

Construct and interpret a Pareto diagram of the collected data. (20 points)
2. Assume a problem of computer downtime and build a cause and effect diagram where the generic headings of the problem are software, hardware, users, and environment. (35 points)
3. Assume X is normally distributed with a mean of 10 and a standard deviation of 2. Determine the value for x that solves each of the following: (7 pts each)
(a) P(X > x) = 0.5
(b) P(X > x) = 0.95
(c) P(x < X < 10) = 0.2
(d) P(-x < X – 10 < x) = 0.95
(e) P(-x < X – 10 < x) = 0.99
