- Research question: environmental marine problems resulting from building of Palm Island.
The building of the world’s largest artificial island was a controversial one, with environmentalists faulting the project for the problems it was likely to cause to marine life. So what are these problems caused by the building of the Palm Island in Japan?
- Some of the problems caused by the construction of the island led to suffocation and injury to local marine and fauna. The ecosystem was completely disrupted. Some other marine life animals were forced to migrate from the coastline due to the construction.
- We will hypothesize that there are no problems that of the artificial palm island in Japan.
- To test the hypothesis, we did a literature survey on the documented material concerning the effect the building of the island had on marine life. The results falsify the hypothesis since, from the literature survey, there are many problems associated with the construction of the island.
- After analyzing our findings, we find that there are many problems that resulted from construction of the Palm Island, mainly because of the disruption to the existing ecosystem
- The results show that building of the Palm Island had a great negative impact on marine life. From these results, it is concluded that building artificial islands has a great negative impact on marine life.
- The results could be published in the Journal of Marine Science that deals with articles on marine science and development. Because we did test our hypothesis and found it to be false, scientists would still be interested into verifying our results.
- Environmental scientists would be interested in our results because this subject is of great concern, and arouses controversy. The Island builders claim that the artificial island is a shelter for marine life, while scientific research shows a disruption of the ecosystem that has disastrous effects. This would interest scientists to want to test the results.
