RESPONSE PAPERS
Two 3-page typed response papers are required based on an interesting fact that intrigued you and requires further inquiry. One paper is due per month. Please turn them in on the date that the reading is discussed in class. Each paper should be double spaced using no larger than a 12-font style. Please follow the MLA format to complete your paper. Grades will be based on accuracy of research and backing of the thesis statement.
To get you started with your response papers that are due next week; I want you to realize the difference between a report, research paper and a response paper. All require reading and gathering of information on a subject, however, a response paper does not include the researched facts and quotes. A response paper is the final analysis of the information you gathered in the form of your opinion and only your opinion.
The Discussions are created in the format that you should be thinking when deciding on a subject to write your response paper in that you need to cover a topic from the chapters that can be discussed and debated. I am not assigning topics since you have to form an opinion and I do not know what you feel strongly about. You need to pick a topic that you can reasonably argue your side of the opposition and formally write your response on the subject.
Relate to your chosen topic both personally and currently so that I will be able to know your thoughts. There are more helpful hints in the What a Response Paper is and is not attachment included under Week 4 in the Content tab to the left in Blackboard.
Let’s have a conversation about your feelings; metaphorically,
