I personally enjoyed this entire class. It was loads of fun learning about communication as well as understanding the difference between a speech and an essay.
Honestly I thought they were one in the same. But glad that is covered for me know. Throughout this course I learned a few different communication terms and the one I
want to discuss it non-verbal communication. Non-verbal communication is the process of when people receive and send wordless motions, visual cues between people. This
stood out the most to me since I am a visual person. I read peoples body language in order to get a sense as to how they are truly feeling or what they are trying to
communicate. people can say one thing but without knowing it can send a different message with the motions they are doing.
Being able to participate in discussion is always nice. It’s great to see the ideas of my class mates and to get feed back on my work. It helps with making sure I’m
staying on track or if I missed something. Feed back is always the key in improving your work. So appreciate everyone who did read my postings and provided me with
feed back, good or bad. With this semester nothing comes to mind that could have been yielded. I learned allot and Prof. Blair is an amazing instructor who always did
her best to provide us all with what we needed. I was not ever able to attend live but did watch the archives and they help a ton. Thanks again and wish everyone the
best in their future. Hope everyone in the Eastern cost is staying safe and warm. God Bless.

The most compelling topic I learned in this course was the effects that verbal and nonverbal communications have on each other as well as on the speaker and audience.
One communication concept I would like to discuss is the communication theory, I find it interesting that someone would go through the steps of communication
individually and that they still apply even in today’s digital age. Except now there are even more avenues for something to be taken out of context or lost along the
way because digital communication is no longer true once it leaves the sender. The theory can be applied to future in communications in future classes with new
instructors and classmates as well in a job setting with help and understanding of new concepts, ideas and people. Participating in discussions opened up more ideas
and thought on effective and ineffective communication. Because we all were raised and taught differently it broadened my horizon on the different types of
communication and how people think and apply themselves through communication. Nothing is unclear I have a much better understanding of speeches and how to apply the
tools learned to deliver a successful speech, I think a unique approach that could have been utilized is to have everyone start out the class with a speech and then
end with one to see how much they learned and applied from start to finish.
