Create a reporting plan for sharing the findings of your evaluation
Write a description in essay format that describes your reporting plan
Note: Once you receive feedback on this part of the Evaluation Plan, you will need to add the information to the Professional Development Plan At-a-Glance (Column Six: Method for Sharing Findings).
In this week’s Discussion, you considered specific ways to present your evaluation findings to different audiences. While you will most likely need to create different versions of your report, several considerations are critical to any evaluation report. Creating a reporting plan this week will help prepare you to organize your findings once the evaluation is in process.
Keep in mind that you may need assistance from others in the community or district in developing reporting mechanisms. In your evaluation plan, you may need to select a resource person to help you in preparing this part of the study. For example, the Office of Research Development or the Office of Research and Information Services in your district may have a resource person to help you. Asking one of these individuals to be a part of the evaluation plan at the beginning, and not at the end, would be particularly valuable in helping you with this part of the process.
In your Professional Development Evaluation Plan (narrative form), complete the Reporting Phase section by creating an initial reporting plan. In your plan, address the following questions (selected and adapted from questions at the beginning of Chapter 10 in your course text, Assessing Impact: Evaluating Staff Development):
Will there be interim reports or only a final report?
Who are the various audiences with whom the evaluation report will be shared? (Identify at least two audiences)
What do the various audiences for the evaluation report want and need to know in the report? For example, how much do they want to know about methodology, data sources and collection tools, and other technical aspects?
Will the final report be written, oral, or oral supported with graphics and other presentation tools?
What is the best format for presenting the written report to the various audiences? (Address at least two audiences.)
Write a description of your reporting plan in essay format, addressing each of the questions above.
