Topic: Reach Out to Military Children and Community Services
Order Description
Conduct an interview (phone or in-person) with a school counselor, school teacher, or a community counselor that has experience teaching or counseling military children. You might check with your local school district, or a community youth services agency to locate potential interviewees. What are the clinical issues that the professional you interview deals with in the therapeutic experiences with military children? How are these issues similar or different from those experienced by non-military children?
Additionally, identify 2 resources in your community that could be accessed to address the issues raised through your interview. You can also include other community resources that you feel are pertinent to the needs of military families. Include a brief description of these services and how they align to each other and to the needs of the children. Organize and compose a succinct compilation of your findings (a resource guide that may be used in your MFT practice.
