You are assigned to a police district as a plainclothes officer. As such you are part of a team charged with investigating more serious crimes and are free from

being tied to a radio and responding to disturbances and handling traffic accidents. The following issue has been passed to you for action and possible solutions.

There has been an increase in gang activity in your town. This has shown itself in increased drug activity, shootings, and other violent crimes.

Please formulate a plan to bring these activities to an end. Remember that all of the provisions regarding due process must be followed. This includes all of the

protections of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments regarding arrest, search, and seizure. Review other student’s responses and comment on them.
