he research paper should demonstrate the full extent of the student’s scholarship by virtue of its in-depth and detailed approach to the assigned topic. The paper and abstract are due by Monday, Nov. 18th (5 points will be taken off for each day that it’s late). The research paper must be at least eight double-spaced, typed pages in length. You must use at least 4 sources (Wikipedia can not be used as a source) and must cite in paper.
Standards of Style – Research papers must demonstrate accepted forms of quotations, references, and source citations. The library has a number of style guides that will help you to prepare and present research essays—according to current conventions of physical layout and documentation of sources. Two of the more popular guides are the College Style Sheet by Jon Furberg and Richard Hopkins, and the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers by Joseph Gibaldi. Research Papers are worth 20% of final grade & the Grading Criteria is attached
