Description
-I have left the request of my professor for the research paper in the files section. You can download and follow the instructions. Also, I have left the Credibility of Sources Assessment you may need to use. If possible I hope you can find some more information from the internet to write an essay. Those links may ask you for my student ID and my last name, so my id: G08145153 and my last name is Vuong.
* Beside required 1 paragraph for opposing argument, the research paper may wish to have own experience about the topic
To make sure this is my professor required:
AUDIENCE: You should assume that your audience for this essay is comprised of readers who disagree with your position on the issue. Consequently, the tone of your essay should be polite yet assertive; you want to avoid alienating your audience; if you blast the other side and adopt an aggressive, belligerent tone, you run the risk of causing your audience to dismiss your argument as unreasonable.
FORM: 12-font, double spaced, current MLA format, In-Text Citations from 5 or more secondary sources (books, magazines, literary journals, newspapers, microfilm, electronic literary databases, the Internet). You must use credible sources; the library databases are highly recommended. You must have a minimum of 2200 words (not counting your Works Cited) to receive credit.
CONTENT: You will take a position on a controversial issue provided on the next page.
Introduce your thesis by first providing some recent history of the controversy surrounding the issue. After giving your thesis, you will provide points to support your overall claim throughout the body of your paper as well as reasons and evidence from the outside sources that you have consulted in order to provide relevant, well-organized support.
Make sure you include a summary of at least one of the strongest opposing arguments before you offer your own rebuttal(s) and perhaps some concession.
Try to make your points appear in order of weakest to strongest.
Also, make sure that you include at least 5 quotes total—at least one from each of your secondary sources.
Introduce each quote and provide commentary afterwards that relates the quote back to your main points and ideas. YOU MUST PROVIDE AT LEAST 5 IN-TEXT CITATIONS FOR YOUR PAPER TO PASS. EACH SOURCE OF YOUR IN-TEXT CITATIONS MUST APPEAR ON YOUR WORKS CITED PAGE.
YOU MUST ALSO PROVIDE A WORKS CITED PAGE WITH AT LEAST 5 SECONDARY SOURCES. AT LEAST 3 OF THOSE SOURCES MUST BE CREDIBLE SOURCES SUPPORTING YOUR POSITION AND AT LEAST 2 OF THOSE SOURCES MUST BE CREDIBLE SOURCES OPPOSING YOUR ARGUMENT
