Project description
Essay question is: The PwC Report Managing Tomorrow’s People’ identifies three radically different scenarios for the future of work. Drawing on appropriate theories, recommend how organisations can incorporate these ideas into their organisation development plans. As well as long-term strategies, identify specific interventions that could be implemented immediately. Show how these short-term activities would respond to the challenges caused by the current and projected economic conditions. Illustrate your ideas through application to one specific organisation with which you are familiar .
1. This assignment requires you to select appropriate theories, explain them and how they integrate with each other, and then demonstrate their application to one or more case organisations.
2. The introduction to the assignment should clarify the frameworks and models that you would use to respond to the long-term challenges of the PwC Report, and provide brief descriptions of the organisations that you refer to in your case examples use appendices if necessary.
3. You will then need to explain, in more depth, by referring explicitly to the key theories, models or forms of analysis how you have developed the long-term strategies you want to apply to your organisation. Here you are showing that you have read and understood the key texts and specialist readings, and can integrate individual theories coherently. Do not rely only on lecture notes.
4. Next, say how you went about this assignment (your method), noting primary and secondary data sources used. Show how you went about gathering the data to support your arguments.
5. In presenting your case(s), select a small number of interventions that would be appropriate for both short-term conditions and long-term objectives. Be specific in describing how they would need to be designed, implemented, and evaluated. Make these interventions specific to the organisation or organisations you have chosen.
6. Use your conclusion to pull together your arguments and to make original points, which bring new insight to this area.
7. Throughout the assignment, you will need to balance the needs of long-term strategies with short-term plans, and connect your recommendations to appropriate organisational theory, while providing clear, actionable processes related to the context of your chosen organisation(s).
