Bert Painter is an analyst and organizational designer with a long pedigree working in socio-technical design with some of the best-known people in the field. He even has a web site [http://www.moderntimesworkplace.com/about_us/facilitaabout_us.html] describing many of the things that he’s done and linking to many useful resources. On his web site, he has a very interesting paper, describing a case study of the application of socio-technical principles in the redesign of work. This paper is available here:
