Literary Analysis
Each story is organized around the basic plot of saving the life of an animal, but the plots have very different outcomes and the characters have very different motives. Use these clues in the plot to discuss what each of the animals symbolize to the women in the stories. (What you should NOT do for this topic is re-tell each of the stories and then add a sentence at the end telling me what the animal symbolizes is. You could start out with what you think the animal symbolizes and then tell how the story supports that idea.)
