Ideas on How to Draft Lit Review conclusion
- Conclusion- Putting our research problem together- General Overview
- You are bringing together the knowledge presented: What do we know, what do we still need to know?
- Then you are identifying the question you will need to answer in the final part of your final paper. What do you need to still find out in order to fill in and complete your research problem?
- What further research do you need to do in order to give your audience what they need to understand your topic and take the action that you want them to take?
- Applying it to your Paper- the 4 part research question
- Part 1: Topic: I am studying______________
Part 2: Question: because I want to find out what/why/how_________________
Part 3: Significance: in order to help my reader understand__________________
Part 4: so that my reader may (take action in some way)______________
- Based on what you now know on your topic, what is known and what do you still need to find out or what will the audience still need to consider in order to make a decision? Where might you or your audience need to look to find these answers?
- What is your current hypothesis? Do you think your audience should take a certain action, should not take a certain action, or take the action sometime in the future? You will explain your hypothesis in your next paper in the final section (not in the Lit Review).
- Example:
Part 1: I am studying honey bees,
Part 2: because I want to find out why they are disappearing
Part 3: to help my reader understand one way to prevent decrease in population
Part 4: so that my reader will give me funding to implement my public announcement program.
What else I need to look into or do for the final paper: To complete this research I still need to look into how PR announcements influence people and I will need to evaluate if a PR program would work with honey bees. I would need to look at studies about PR announcements. I may also need to look into cost. It is my current hypothesis that PR announcements could prevent the decrease in bee populations by educating people about bee pastures.
