Information about the assignment:
In 2000 words write up the lexical decision experiment as carried out in class.

1. Review the literature on lexical decision
2. Formulate 2 hypotheses
3. Outline the methodology (number of subjects, procedure)
4. Present and summarise the results
5. Reflect on the results in relation to the literature reviewed

The weighting of the mark is as follows:

Literature Review/Hypotheses/Discussion (30 %)

It is important to give an overview of the background literature and that the hypotheses are derived from previous findings. Similarly, after the results have been stated, it is important to link

the results back to the initial literature and say what the results mean in the wider context.

Methodology (20 %)

This section includes a description of the subjects, their age, distrubution of males and females and the region where the data was collected. It also includes a description of the task and how

the task was carried out. The software used to collect the data is called Superlab.

Results (30 %)

This section outlines the findings and is based on calculations of average reaction times (in ms). The results need to address the hypotheses outlined and the reader needs to be able to verify

why you have accepted or rejected the the hypothesis. You need to to include a table and/or graphs to show the main findings as well as describe the fidings in the text.

Language and Referencing (10 %)

Your language should flow and adhere to an academic standard (i.e. not be too colloquial). You need to back up your arguments and outlines with appropriate literature (at least 4 references),
