JIT Manufacturing

In the discussion of TPS, the concept of value that was introduced in 
Week 1 is brought to your attention once again. From this context, respond to the following:

• Explain how JIT manufacturing (of which TPS is an example) or the broader concept of Lean production is related to the concept of providing value in the eyes of the customer.
• Give two examples (other than Toyota) of companies that use the Lean or JIT philosophies and cite the sources from which you learned about their Lean or JIT efforts.
• Describe any improvement of productivity or efficiency that was identified in the sources that you cite.
