There are five research updates for this course that need to be completed prior to leaving for Chicago. We will be working with three companies: Jellyvision, McDonald’s, and Boeing. The purpose of the research updates is to prepare you for the time you spend at each company. Each update should be typed in Word with 1” margins and double spaced. Writing thorough updates will assist you with your final paper. Your updates need to demonstrate that you have conducted the necessary research to answer the questions and address the topic. This is a research intensive course that is designed to help you develop critical thinking skills necessary to recognize how to approach and solve HR problems. Be sure to keep track and cite all sources that you use for your research. APA format is required.

Research Update #1: Getting to Know the Organizations (due 5/22)
What is the mission of each organization? Briefly discuss the history of the organization. What is the organizational structure and size of the organization? This update should provide an overview of the organization and a summary of what the organization does. Briefly discuss the current financial condition of the organization.
