3,500 word limit with possibility of 10% above or below. Case studies, examples and evidence should draw upon key concepts, theories and models which include:
? Sender-message-receiver model
? Power (i.e. power over, agenda setting, structural power, etc.)
? Liberal-pluralist theories of the media
? Critical-Marxist theories of the media
? Theories of media effects
? Theories of media performance
? Theories of interpersonal communication
? Theories of policy-making
In terms of structure, I have been recommended by my tutor to divide essay into two halves and deal with liberal-pluralist perspectives on senders (i.e. media performance and media bias, political communication or the three dimensions of power, etc.), receivers (i.e. media effects and media bias, political communication or the three dimensions of power etc.), etc. in the first half, and then deal with critical-Marxist perspectives in the second half.
