Is feminism harmful or beneficial to American society?

“Is feminism harmful or beneficial to American society?”

Feminism movement in America did gain its prominence in the early years of the 20th century in the midst of suffrage, as well as prohibition actions and movements. Under the influence of the feminist movement, women had the opportunity to get their voice into a political, economic, and social sphere, thus, the platform to make successful reforms beneficial to the society (Americans). Feminism has played a critical role in improving the American society through the incorporation of initiatives and reforms in the healthcare, political, and economic sectors. This paper illustrates feminism as a beneficial act to American society through the generation of inclusive society, promotion of morals and values, and offering solutions to issues affecting the society.

Firstly, feminism benefits the American society through encouraging and promoting an inclusive society. One of the issues affecting the growth and development of the United States is the issue of inequality among the society members. From this statement, it is valuable to note that gender inequality is one of the instrumental aspects in pursuit of an inclusive society (Fernandes, 2013). Feminism movements have been at the forefront in questioning the essence of gender disparity, thus, a platform for the realization of equality among the society members. Besides, inclusive society is an expression of a harmonious entity, which provides the opportunity for increased productivity and performance of the members. Feminism ensures the provision of equal opportunities for the Americans regardless of their gender identities. The sense of inclusiveness in the American society is critical in the generation of a quality image and reputation relating to protection and conservation of the human rights.

Secondly, feminism benefits the American society through encouraging and proposing moral values, as well as ideals of the growth and development of the society. In the course of shaping the future of the society, there is a need for the American society to have and exploit moral values and ideals. Lack of the moral values and ideals tend to generate an inappropriate image of the society in the global context (Rowbotham, 2013). Feminism focuses on empowering the oppressed while offering such entities voices to air their grievances and seek mechanisms to improve their conditions under the influence of favorable moral values. These aspects are beneficial to the American society, thus, the enormous implication of feminism in shaping the future of the United States and enhancing the relationship among the society members.

Thirdly, feminism benefits the American society through provision of the opportunities and avenues towards ironing several issues affecting the growth and development of the society. For instance, feminism concentrates on the elimination of gender inequality, thus, generation of the avenue towards the elimination of poverty among the society members (Rowbotham, 2013). Empowerment of women enables the American society to improve the performance of its economy, which translates to improved living conditions of the society members. Besides, empowerment of the women and oppressed society members increase or enhance their performance and influence in the decision-making process about issues affecting their conditions of the society.

Conclusively, feminism benefits the American society through encouraging inclusivism, promotion of morals and values, and offering solutions to issues affecting the society. The findings of this paper demonstrate the positive influences of feminism on empowerment of the oppressed entities in the American society. These benefits have massive influences on the image and reputation of the American society in the global context as a leader in respecting and recognizing equality and other human rights in the contemporary society.
