Music has several impacts on the community or the region for a music event. The intent of this study is to find out the results of music events to the society. This research specifically analyzes the impacts that the Absolute Bowie music event has on the society. The Absolute Bowie music event will be held in Bristol the United Kingdom on the 8th of July at The Fleece (BS1 6JJ).
Music has significant impacts on the society. These results vary from social, cultural, economic as well as tourist impacts (Etiosa, 2012). The music event is likely to affect the cultural beliefs and practices of the hosting community of an event. The sound and the messages released to the audiences through the music directly impact the listeners of the music in numerous ways (Chau & Riforgiate, 2010). The impact is often dominant amongst the youth and the adolescents. Economic impacts can either be positive or negative to the hosting community. Tourist impact can affect the community positively through increased economic income or negatively through corrosion of the cultural and social practices by the city (Duke, 2014).
Five piece absolute Bowie is a series of events that is scheduled to take place across Europe. The events will involve a live band performance in tribute to David Bowie. The live band performance will feature all of David Bowie’s greatest hits during his career in music. The performance is described to be energetic in nature with A to Z shows with the station to station in between. The 5Piece Absolute Bowie is an important event in Europe and has the possibility of significant impacts to the community.
Objectives
To look at British and non-British Residents in Bristol and compare the difference perception between them about Absolute Bowie and the benefit.
To critically evaluate the percentage of non-British in Bristol who come to the Bowie events
To analyze the difference in behavior between the aliens and the hosting community.
Research Questions
How does the Absolute Bowie music event impact the community of Bristol socially and culturally?
How many British and non-British Residents in Bristol attend to the Absolute Bowie Event?
How are the Cultural Practices of the tourist who attends the Absolute Bowie vary from that of the hosting community?
This research is a qualitative and quantitative research. Therefore, the data collection process will involve observation as well as data collection through the use of in-depth questionnaires to willing participants. The data collection process will take place in three phases. The first step will occur before the event, the second stage of the case while the final phase will be done after the event.
During the initial phase, researchers will distribute in-depth questionnaires to willing participants. The members are picked through the use stratified random sampling technique. Participants will answer questions about their view concerning the event as well as their expectations for the event. Observations will also be made during this stage. During the second phase, questionnaires will be distributed to willing participants while observations will be done on the behaviors of non-British and local. On the final stage, questionnaires will again be circulated to the participants in the study. Observations will be done by the locals.
Music events within the community have significant impacts on the community. The analysis and study of the Absolute Bowie Event within Bristol has been able to prove the above factor.
