Scientific and technological advancements have had substantial, persistent effects on the world, especially on the resources that people use to satisfy their daily needs. The effects include changes to the economic relationship among people, a distribution of wealth for different societies, and more effective methods of global communication.
You have studied the major economic theories and their relationship to scientific progress. For this task, you will be required to identify two social consequences of the Industrial Revolution that you consider to be the most significant. You will also be required to identify two differences between capitalism and communism that you consider to be the most significant.
Task:
Write a short response (suggested length 1-2 paragraphs) for each of the following:
A. Justify your choice of the two most significant social consequences of the First Industrial Revolution (circa 1780–1850).
B. Discuss how the First Industrial Revolution contributed to the rise of capitalism.
C. Discuss how the rise of capitalism led to the development of communist theory.
