Section I: Short Identification (30 Points)

Identify the following in complete sentences (4-5 sentences), and be sure to include who/what, where, when and why!  You are permitted to use only the lectures and the textbook for your sources.

Section II: Essay (70 Points)

Choose one of the following essays (30 Points)

Essay A: What were the long-term causes of World War I? When did the war become inevitable? What battles were the turning points of the war? How did this war change the world forever?

Essay B: What were the long-term and short-term causes of the Russian Revolution?  When do you think the Revolution became inevitable in Russia? What kind of society did the Communists build in Russia?
