How Slavery in America has a changed or influenced our present day Academic Essay

I have to turn in a paper with 3 annotated bibliographies with details on how Slavery in America has a changed or influenced our present day

Here all these details of how the paper needs to be written:

Annotated Bibliography Assignment:

This week (Part II) you are to create a complete Annotated Bibliography for 3 academic scholarly sources, which include your introduction and thesis, publication details, and the annotation (see below for examples of each component). In week 4, you will complete this process for 3 additional sources. A total of 5 academic-scholarly sources are required for completion of your final research project.

Scholarship means that

the author has a Ph.D. or other terminal degree,
the work appears in a multi-volumed, peer-reviewed journal,
and has ample references at the end.

Good annotations

capture publication details,
offer a student introduction and thesis, and
a detailed reading of the source, covering the following:

Offers the student’s introduction and thesis to the best extent s/he knows it at this point in time,
Summarizes key points, and
identifies key terms (using quotation marks, and citing a page in parentheses);
Locates controversies or “problems” raised by the articles;
States whether the student agrees or disagrees and gives reasons;
Locates one or two quotations to be used in the final research project; and
Evaluates the ways in which this article is important and has helped the student to focus his/her understanding.

The format of the paper is APA.

Below are my professor’s comments from a previously submitted paper. I think they will suffice in guiding you as you write this paper.

Hamidreza: You have some interesting information, but I’m not sure of the focus for the project beyond recounting the history of slavery. You mention the impact on society, which is a good approach, but you don’t establish the exact focus for the paper. For example, do you see slavery as being at the heart of the economic boom we saw in the South — plantations, building, etc.? Don’t focus on a history paper for this project. Instead, consider how this particular institution changed or influenced our present day culture. You mention Oakland and the racial unrest, and this would be a great way to center the paper. Do you see society as perpetuating this class distinction based mostly on race? That would be one way to focus the paper. Keep the focus on American slavery, but be sure to find scholarly sources — those in the library databases. Use the Ask a Librarian chat in the Library for help using the library resources or getting additional ideas for search terms. There are errors with documentation, both in the paper and in the References. Be sure to review the sample papers again, and then use the APA guide in the Webliography for help with documentation. And, use the sample papers for help structuring the cover page and header in APA format. You have the basics, but you need a defined focus. Also, there are documentation and editing errors, as well as a need for a scholarly source.

Guidelines for the Proposal (100 points): A proposal offers a detailed and full description of your project (as best you know it at the time of writing) in no more than 5 pages. Understand that you are making a best effort to describe your project early on, but allow yourself to be open to growth and change as you conduct research and focus your intentions. Create a proposal of two pages that references one academic scholarly source for the research project you intend to complete. This project should engage at least one academic source, should include an introduction and thesis to the best extent that you know it at this point in time, and should locate a central controversy that requires deft and subtle handling. Be sure to adhere to APA style for in-text citation and final reference page. (No cover page is needed.) Select a project from among those suggested on the Course Project page under Course Home or discuss a special topic with your professor.
