Week 6 Assignment: Happiness Exercises
Review the following four happiness exercises:
o Gratitude Visit.
§ Write and deliver (in person) a letter of gratitude to someone who has been especially kind to you but never really thanked.
o Three Good Things in Life.
§ Each day, write down three things that went well and identify the cause of each.
o You at Your Best.
§ Write about a time when you functioned at your best. Reflect on the personal resources that made that functioning possible.
o Identify Signature Strengths.
§ Identify up to five personal signature strengths (from a list such as the one in Table 15.4) and find a way to use each in a new way.
Write a paper of approximately 750 words that responds to the following:
o What effect do you think the exercise will have on a person?
o What is it about these exercises that may increase happiness?
o Select one of the four happiness exercises and describe how you could use these in an intervention.
Include a minimum of two sources, which may consist of readings from the University Library, your text, and other selections.
