Gravitational acceleration lab report

Gravity van be measured through various ways and one of the main methods is by measuring a

pendulum’s oscillation period. An oscillation can be defined as the period or the time taken by a

pendulum to complete a single cycle of motion. A pendulum swings back and forth because of

the force of gravity. This means that if the pendulum were to be dismantled, the force of gravity

would pull it down. Additionally, whenever a pendulum is facing down, it cannot stop instantly

and this means that the pendulum continues to swing back and forth in the same manner. As the

pendulum continues to swing, gravity will eventually pull it down and cause it to fall. If a

pendulum never encountered air friction, it would continue swinging indefinitely. Air friction is

the only reason why pendulums stop…
