1. The overall vision of the play (what themes of the play will you focus on? What choices will you
make in terms of the overall design that will illustrate a focus on these thematic elements?) This
will be a 2-3 page paper which outlines in detail what angle you have chosen to approach the play
with and how this will play out in the design, casting, and staging of your play.
2. Cite at least one specific scene in order to talk very specifically about how you will apply your
concept. Use the scene (specify which one) to lay out how your directing choices will emerge in the
course of the dialogue and action for this scene. This will be 1-2 pages.
3. Dream casting of the play complete with justification of why you have chosen that actor for each
role. Why have you cast those actors in those roles? How do these actors’ abilities suit the
characters in a unique and compelling way? You can choose from all of Hollywood and beyond to
cast whomever you want. The important part here is I want to know why the actor you’ve chosen is
well-suited to play that character. This will be 1-2 pages.
