Existing Issues Facing SAHS

SAHS has offered good health care for a long time, making the community satisfied with its services. There have been increased employment opportunities in the health system, giving an opportunity to many citizens who earn a god living from it. The workers range from nurses to community health workers. However, in the recent past, many complaints have arisen about the recession in the quality of services offered in the community clinics. This paper, therefore, will analyze the existing issues that have led to the decline in the quality of services in SAHS.

One of the major issues is based on the quality of the services that are offered in SAHS. Although the clinics had a high a reputation for offering quality services, the community complains that the standards of the services offered have gone down, contrary to their expectations. The nurses and the health workers have become less committed, and the issues can be detrimental to the SAHS if not ethics in the working environment are not enforced. SAHS has also been faced with a challenge of declining revenues; hence, they are unable to keep up with tough competition from their rivals. Revenues are crucial in purchase modern equipment such as EHR Integration software. The economy has been declining, thus higher utilization in the community-based clinics. More money is lost by the clinics due to sliding payment scale. Those with less income to spare are allowed to pay less compared to those whose income is high. Since the SAHS patients are composed of the majority of low-income earners, the profits are reduced by $ 75,000 per month.

There has been a drop in state reimbursement due to increased number of patients, . SAHS is left with less staff, which has posed a great challenge.

SAHS has been outstanding for a long time and has gained popularity in the community for offering quality services. However, it has been faced by issues that have led to a decline in the quality of service offered. The issues include lack of integration of EHR in their system, which might make it succumb to the competition by other new health systems. There has been declining revenues that are caused by factors such as lack of enough reimbursement, implementation of sliding scale in the economy. There has been less number of patients visiting the facilities, due to lack of sufficient marketing system. The SAHS is facing competition from new health facilities who recruit staff from it and offer them better returns.
