You will find online an example of a Professional Code of Ethics from a public or community safety profession. You will evaluate the Code of Ethics by answering a series of structured questions.

Each question should be answered in one or two paragraphs.

1. Find a relevant Code of Ethics for a public or community safety profession ” ideally the profession you are planning to work in or already work in. To find a relevant Code of Ethics start by searching in the Illinois Institute of Technology Centre for the Study of Ethics in Professions: Codes of Ethics Online at

If you aren”t able to find anything in the IIT website, try Googling the name of your current or future profession plus code of ethics. Here”s a site for a U.S. Firefighters Codes of Ethics in Palm Beach found that way:
