Education is a sensitive area that requires a corporation from all stakeholders.

Education is a sensitive area that requires a corporation from all stakeholders. Any decision made in the sector should involve all the stakeholders because they are important players. Therefore, administrators and policy makers should consider these stakeholders when making policies and decisions.

Chicago had historic votes to close more than 50 schools citing underutilization due to sharp population decline in student population. Two months later, there was an official request for proposals that district wanted to register more schools to reduce overcrowding in some schools where reports said there was an increase in population and wanted to come up with new generation schools. CPS supported the move.

Chicago teachers union through their president Karen Lewis complained bitterly that the district wanted to privatize the public schools. She said chartered schools receive federal funding, but they are private. The union does not represent teachers in chartered schools.

The president of the Illinois Network of Charters Schools, Andrew Broy, said that there was a shift in priority of allocating or assigning charters. Previous were given to those schools that lacked high performance unlike that time where priority has shifted to cities where overcrowding has been an issue. He further added that the CPS wanted to come up with model schools that they never had before. The state officials wanted to increase the quality of academics in cities as other sides academics was poor.

Question Two.

Education practices are bound to deteriorate because the standards of education is unevenly distributed. Some regions are favored to have better schools and education while others are not. Teacher and other educational stakeholders will give up in delivering quality services since the district officials are not motivating them.

The district decision to give charters to more than 50 schools is an ill intention move, and it is going to cause problems from teachers’ unions because it is snatching it its members. The intention of the district can be a move to weaken the teachers’ union thus reducing its bargaining power. Education standards are going to increase in the city while other regions will experience poor standards of education.

Question three

Education is going to be the preserve of those who will take their kids to better schools in towns and cities. With the advent of technology where there are online classes, students will have a chance of getting quality education. Quality education is now going to be the preserve of those who can afford. For those students in marginalized areas will continue suffering because of low-quality education and teachers’ strikes for being neglected in making decisions in matters concerning education and teachers welfare.

Question Four

These changes in education are affecting the teachers more often than any other stakeholder in education department. The government does not motivate the teacher on grounds that they lack money to increase their pay and therefore start to play propaganda games. The move to weaken he teachers’ union is intended to ensure that they do not have a say in dealing with matters relating to their welfare and concerns.

Somebody with an intention of becoming a teacher in a future date will be discouraged even more because of the devaluation of teachers by the government and its agents. At a future date, there will be reduced a number of teachers as many will specialize in other fields that recognize their efforts.

Therefore, teachers should be consulted and be part of decision-making when it comes to matters concerning education. Government officials are supposed to recognize the teaching profession as equal to other professions and accord them maximum respect.
