Using Bloomberg’s Schema of questions, describe what specific questions should be explored in order to decide if John should be offered the regional manager’s job.

  1. Questions of fact: These refers to the capability of the applicants to determine the basic infroamtion

Is john aware of the job’s responsibilities and expectations?

Does John know the duties of a regional manager?

  1. Questions of interpretation: Does that applicant have the capability of making informed decisions through determining relative value.

Has john have had prior experience as a regional manager?

If yes what are his major achievements?

  1. Questions of Analysis (is the applicant able to identify the central issues)

What does john anticipate to bring to the company?

Are his career goals aligned with the job requirements and the organizational objectives?

  1. Questions of synthesis (this refers to the applicants capability to link information with other information)

What are John’s major achievements and how will his achievements apply to the field that he has applied?

What skills does he have that makes him well suited for the job of a regional manager

  1. Questions of application: these refers to the applications capability to learned materials in new environment

How will John prior experience help him in the new field that he has applied?

What are John’s academic qualifications?

Does he have the required academic qualifications to be a regional manager?

 

  1. Using the 5 step problem solving method we discussed in class, describe how you will arrive at the decision to offer John the regional manager’s job.

The first step entails indentifying the problem. In this case, the organization main problem is filling the position of regional manager and the possible candidate who appears to be well qualified for the position.     The alternative to remedy this problem is finding an applicant who is competent enough and qualified for the position. the advantage of this alternative is that through the interview process, the qualified individuals shall be the one to fill in the position. the only disadvantage of this method is that it is time consuming.   The solution is conducting a successful interview and finding a qualified individual for the solution. John appears to fit the bill and well qualified to fill the vacant position.

  1. Using the concept of Confucian trustworthiness, decide what the main moral issue is in the case. Describe how and why you identified the moral issue.

Confucius asserts that persons are ethically obligated to refine themselves, as well as, become exemplary beings. According to the Confucian trustworthiness indviduals should refine themselves and this is only attained through education. In this case the main moral issue is finding a distinction that the home life and work life. Confucian favors male ways over moral reasoning which emphasizes rights, and rules over female’s ways of moral reasoning which emphasize responsibilities, as well as, relationships. I was able to find the moral issue by reading through the article and by understanding the concept of Confucian trustworthiness I was able to identify the moral issue.

  1. Using the concept of Akan humanism, decide what the main moral issue is in this case. Describe how and why identified the moral issue.

The concept of Akan humanisms is the result of not only believing in the existence of a Supreme Being, as well as, other supernatural entities, but most significant on the desire of utilizing the powers and munificence of such entities for the promotion of human happiness and welfare. as per the Akan humanism, the main moral issue is attaining happiness   in both work life and home life. I was able to identify the moral issue by basing my arguments on the Akan Humanism that stresses on promoting human welfare and happiness.
