Death Penalty

Death Penalty

The persistent death row penalty is a factor in which student and the members of different communities should be educated on.  This is because the death row penalty is a punishment which should be abolished from all states that practices it. This is because many innocent people who cannot defend their cases up being put under death row. It is realized that in most cases, that some issues taken to court do not have sufficient evidence and therefore families end up suffering when members of their family are innocently executed. In this, it would be highly recommended that the judicial system to reconsider the death penalty system because, it does not only execute innocent individuals but also it offends the human aspect of an individual especially when one is hanged from a rope or killed via a blade.
It is realized that not only is death penalty in humane it is also expensive to the state. This is because more than $4 billion tax payer money is being used in on capital punishment, for instance, California has spent $ 308 million for the 13 executions that it has carried out since it started carrying out the death penalty sentence.  Such amount of money is too big to be spent on the killing of people and if it was to be directed to other projects such as health programs and community services it would benefit the tax payers greatly. It is realized that from all this, the judicial system is using a lot of tax payers money which is put into unnecessary use through the correctional system where convicts are taken through complex processes which are expensive to the tax payer.
Evidence has come up, saying that the judicial system will not take up evidence on the defense of individuals who have originally been sentenced on a death penalty. This factor has affected individuals such as Jorge Torrez, a lake county resident who was convicted for the murdering two young girls. In his case, the federal judge was able to deny his defense lawyer the effort to present evidence showing his innocence. It is realized that through such acts many people who are innocent end up on the death row. In this, it would be highly recommended that any individual who is to be put under death row( if necessary)  should be investigated thoroughly and all his/her evidence be placed on the table for all to see. Such an action will help in reducing the number of innocent people who fall victim of the death row situation.
Though the death penalty has its many objections towards it, in some cases it is highly recommended. Such cases include: situations when an individual requests for death penalty him/her self, or when an individual has been convicted severally because of murder and is still committing murder and rape. In California a woman was charged of poisoning her two children after which, when taken to court she requested for a death penalty. The judiciary was not able to grant her wish, and due to the guilt that she had for what she had done, she attempted to committee suicide. It is realized that in some situations such as these the court has the right to grant a death penalty because if they don’t the individual will eventually end up killing him or herself. Incidences such as gang rapes and murder of students should be look at closely when granting a death penalty. Though some citizens have in some occasions requested for death penalty for rape suspect, especially when it happens to their family member. Under sufficient evidence the death sentences should be taken into consideration. When this is not put into consideration such crimes will continue to affect citizens of countries such as India were rape is very rampant among the locals.
In conclusion, it is clearly evident that though the death penalty has its applications on one side it should not be always practiced for it has its own severe implications.
