Order Description
The essay shall contain the following sections:

Section I: Conceptual Knowledge
Section II: Metanarrative
Section III: Annotated References

Section I: Conceptual Knowledge

Section I emphasizes the synthesis of concepts encountered during core courses. You are expected to identify, summarize, differentiate, and compare three of your best essays submitted during core courses. After discussing the three essays, choose one essay and discuss how it appeals to your personal and professional interests. This section should be a maximum of five pages in length.

Section II: Metanarrative

Section II requires you to create a metanarrative relying upon perceived interconnections between the events, concepts, and other elements appearing within the three essays. In other words, you will make sense of the three essays using a unifying big idea causing the three articles to meld into a single perspective.

Section III: Annotated References

All cited papers must have corresponding annotated references located in the references section of the essay. Please note that the annotated references count toward the page count; for a maximum of three pages. The template contains a sample reference.
