Catchment analysis

Catchment analysis

Order Description
Our picked area “Millah Murrah.” Its approximately 3km squared in area. Its average depth to height is 70m evenly spaced throughout the area.
It is part of a large “Central West and Orana” region. Millah Murrah is part of “Bathurst” Council.
latitude (33 12 24)
longitude (149 37 34)
North-Vidamar
East- Oak Mountain
South West- Dog Trap Hill
North West- Geonamurrah

I need to write about catchment analysis please follow these instructions and use provided information to write it in proper way to get a good final report. the amount of words not necessary to be in this order.

– Delineation

I need 200 words about this part: talk about how to contour an area by picking high and low point in the topographic map we delineated our area into too two self-contained subcatchments. Any water that fall into a sub catchment will either be absorbed into the ground or flow through the same place within the catchment.

Total area = 3.27 km^2
South catchment = 1.68km^2
North cathcment = 1.58 km^2

– IFD curves

I need 150 words about this program that we use it to get rainfall values for 2 hours duration 1 per 100 years. we generated an IFD curve using the bureau of meteorology website. Which shows the frequency, duration and magnitude of storms in the area.

– Soil

I need 200 words about soil type and which website we used to get below information. Please organize all provided information in your way and add some information about this type of soil.

The type of soil has a profound effect on the affect heavy rains and flood have on an area so we gathered the following soil and topological information from the e-spade website.
Physiography of the land is hill slope approximately 8% slope.
It has dry sclerophyll forest, with volun./ native pasture in the general area.
Expected to be hard setting when dry with ground cover of 60%
No salt evidence is present in the area due to land degradation or erosion.
Soil hydrology is imperfectly drained.
Soil type is “Solodic Soil(GSG), Dr2.42(PPF).
Erosion has been rated ‘high’ due to the type of vegetation, soil type and the slope of the area.
