Ethics Program Implementation

As you can see by your reading, a lot of energy goes into the implementation of an organizational ethics program. And Lockheed Martin has clearly allotted considerable resources to assuring their program is successful. In this assignment we’ll be focusing on what the company did to assure the the implementation of a successful program that was flexible enough to accommodate the changing needs of the organization.

Case Assignment

In a 4- to 5-page paper, identify three or four of the initiatives put forth by Lockheed Martin that you consider to have the biggest bang for the buck (so to speak) and discuss why you believe these initiatives have a significant impact on the company’s program. You may use anything presented in the text from this or the previous module in your discussion.

The Chief Ethics Officer

Assignment Overview

In this assignment you will be asked to consider the role of a Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. Many large corporations have such an individual who provides leadership and oversight to the company’s business ethics related endeavors. Recall that Lockheed Martin has such an executive level position. However, not all companies have such a position. In this assignment you will be asked to discuss the role of the Ethics Officer and to do some additional research to consider what smaller organizations might do with respect to providing leadership in the area of organizational ethics.

Assignment Instructions

In this assignment please provide a short overview of your reading and describe the role of the chief ethics (and compliance) officer. Not all companies can afford to have somebody at the executive level overseeing organizational ethics. Please do some additional research and consider who you believe would assume this leadership function for a smaller corporation.
