Behaviour Management Personal Dicipline Plan
Based on your knowledge of and reflection on various approaches to classroom management, and your own experiences, create a personal discipline plan that outlines:
1.Your beliefs about key aspects of discipline (e.g. its aim; locus of control; your goals as a teacher etc.) and how these connect to theories covered in this course (approximately 1-2 pages).
2.Preventive strategies you would use and why (approximately 1-2 pages).
3.Corrective strategies you would use and why (approximately 1-2 pages).
4.How you would set up your classroom and why (think about physical layout, routines and rules) (approximately 1-2 pages).
5.Three (3) key issues you would need to consider in order to ensure the success of your plan. (approximately 1-2 pages).

Key issues may include:
1.Cultural diversity (Chapter 13 of your textbook).
2.Working with parents.
3.Managing challenging behaviours.
4.School models Vs your own classroom model and beliefs.
Criteria for assessment:
•Coherence of plan in terms of articulated goals, beliefs, theory and practices and synthesis of these.
•Support of ideas with reference to relevant theory and research, referring to at least 8 books/journal articles/on-line materials.
•Demonstration of reflective and critical thinking, showing an awareness of key issues in classroom behaviour management.
•High standard of literacy, presentation and referencing.
