Rickie McNeal
Professor: Dr. Kim Ards
BUS 520 – Leadership and Organizational Behavior

Introduction/Outline
The assignment was to conduct an interview with an individual within the community which would be a person who leads by setting the example as a leader. While a great deal could be found within the local community as a leader, I wanted to pick a person that I have known for the past four year’s one that stands out with outstanding strengths. The person interviewed was Valeria McConnell, who currently serves as a Property Administrator assigned to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) responsible for managing the Central Property where she is responsible for the management of the Government Contract Property which includes the development of Agency-wide processes and procedures with Federal Acquisition Regulation and various other guidelines within the Department of Defense.
As a Leader and a Manager, she is responsible for overseeing the Central Property Office her leadership and commitment have established criteria that were escaping as she became the principal focal point as the Supervisor that provided oversight to the Central Property Control Office. Her responsibility also focuses in on accounting practices along with changes to the property systems analysis and financial accounting in accordance with contract requirements under both federal, state and related financial reporting compliance requirements. The primary focus is writing policies and procedures, standards and guidelines for the efficient management to the agency.
Conclusion
In closing, based on the interview with Valeria McConnell was one of a new experience that I greatly treasured. What I learned how important this position played a vital part within the MDA program as it involves Government Property under the Control of the Central Property Office. The take away from this was the responsibility reaches out far beyond just the confines of the United States.
