Assessment task 2: Research Report

Assessment task 2: Research Report
Topic: Using wireless charging system on small electronic devices in office

This task allows you to explore an issue or your choice that has relevance to the course’s content. This task will require you to identify personal learning objectives and to later demonstrate what you have gained as a result of doing your project. Academic staff must approve the topic; however there is a great deal of flexibility in topics that can be developed. This task requires you to reflect on previous research and literature; however the final paper can be presented as an academic paper or a business style report. This report, however, must demonstrate your ability to conduct research or investigation around the selected topic.
Papers must be original and must not have been submitted fully or partly for another course.

The Research Report requires you to:
1.    Pose and try to answer critical questions.
2.    Research the topic well and base your presentation on recent information.
3.    Document it appropriately in terms of citation and report writing style.
4.    Pay attention to critical appraisal of issues discussed and factual content €¨presented.
Critically evaluate the issue or problem that you are addressing. This is NOT a descriptive essay, but rather one based on evaluation and investigation. ۬Criteria used to evaluate major projects ۬The following criteria are used when assessing your Research Report. To what extent have you:
1.    Identified clear rationale for developing the project based on an assessment of needs?
2.    Developed clear objectives for the report?
3.    Posed key critical questions to be pursued in the report?
4.    Displayed a critical and evaluative approach when collecting, using, and presenting information?
5.    Developed logical conclusions supported with appropriate evidence?
6.    Used up-to-date sources of evidence?
7.    Heeded sufficient attention to acknowledging the sources used in the project?
8.    Presented all project information in a clearly written and appropriately organized format? €¨As this criterion suggests, the paper must be one that demonstrates evaluation, not just description. Simply describing a new technology will not be accepted.
