ARTICLE RESPONSES (CRITICAL THINKING WRITING ASSIGNMENT):

The aim of the Article Response assignments is to learn to argue by analogy, an important tool in critical thinking. Article response assignments have their own rubric. Again, aside from mention of the article you’re responding to, you will not be allowed to use outside sources for these assignments.

Paragraph 1:

Elaborate on the author’s main idea, point, or opinion (for clarification).

Paragraph 2:

State your main idea, point, or opinion on the same topic (agree or disagree with the author, in part or in whole).

Elaborate on your main idea, point, or opinion.

Exemplify your position. In other words, think of real life examples that show you are right in your position.

Create an Analogy to argue the correctness of your position.
